yellowducky's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April Fools 2003 Happy April Fool's everyone. My boss got me good! She tried last year, but it didn't work. The thing it, I'm a practical jokester all year round, so they just wait and plot for this one day. I was expecting it, but this was so PLAUSIBLE! KB has been out for two days at a training, and I got to the office this am to a message on my machine that the transitional housing board wanted her to present to them why they should allow our undocumented women to be allowed services at the new transitional shelter. She couldn't do it and wanted me to fill in for her at 1:30. She left me basics on what she wanted in the report and told me she would call me on her break to make sure I covered all the bases. IT WAS SO PLAUSIBLE. We knew the board would be calling us soon for our report. They do things at the last minute. KB has asked me to fill in for reports before. Undocumented clients is kind of my speciality. It made perfect sense! I created a PowerPoint presentation from 8:30 am 'till 12 noon when KB called me. I let her know it was essentially done, I just wanted to make sure I was covering everything she would want me to. She said not to worry about it as it was April Fools Day. I laughed myself silly. She said I was the only one she could do that to who wouldn't quit or slam down the phone. The truth? It was an adrenaline rush to create the report (it was good too). I gave her a copy and kept one for myself. Maybe we'll actually use it when they really do call us!
