yellowducky's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Tires! Girls night out last night. We went to see "Chicago". I liked it! I'd never seen Richard Gere in that kind of a role before, and it was a nice change. Best of all, we got there an hour early -- that never happens with my dear red-headed friend, so we got to sit and catch up on all our news. We haven't really talked since Christmas. Before the movie I did something that I hesitate to write about here on D-land now that I allow my favorite brother (okay, my only brother) to read my diary. I did something I swore I would do 7 months ago when I last went up to visit him. I only write about it because we're in two different states and he can't strangle me for waiting so long, even though I promised him I would take care of it. See, last time I drove up to see him he took one look at my tires and said, "Ducky, those are really bad. You need new ones." I said, "Yes, I know, I will take care of it soon." He wanted to know when, and I told him as soon as my vacation was over. Well, while I was visiting him, metal started to show on one of the tires and he got very upset with me. Of course, I was being my typical stubborn, prideful self. Accepting help is a little hard for me to do. I could only afford to replace the one, and my brother wanted to help me out and replace all of them. I refused, promising that I would have them all replaced by the middle of July. I got it done last night. The good thing, Lil' Boy, is that I got it done, right? No catastrophes, no flat tires, no blow-outs. I told you I would be okay. I did KIND OF lie to you--I meant to get it done, but it's dang expensive when you get paid crap! My boss has been threatening to call you and tell on me--the big meanie. It's kind of nice, my truck stops better now. 10:13 a.m. - January 18, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
