yellowducky's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vacation I’ve been on vacation. I needed it; I was about to commit myself to the psych unit down the street. It was 9 days of bliss. I went home to the Land of OZ. I let my mom pamper me. I let my family sooth my frazzled nerves. I played with my nephews and nieces. Of course, the 5-year old ended up in the ER with three loose teeth and two stitches in her lip. It was very traumatic for us all. Except for the 7-year old twins. They just wanted to see the blood. Little ghouls. I am still the favorite Aunt, though—even if I can’t prevent playground accidents. The firefighter wanted to send me home with a ring on my finger. I said, “No, my mother has a weak heart.” Mom said, “Good thing. That would be really tacky, Ducky, to come home on one guy’s plane ticket with another guy’s ring on your finger.” I agreed. My mom is always right. Mom just likes Flyboy better, though. I understand, of course. I do too. Not only did he give me tickets to go home twice in 90 days, but when I called my roommate to make sure she could pick me up she said, “You know I would love to do that, however, Flyboy has already called to request the honor of that privilege.” Then, when my plane was delayed and I tried to call him to let him know, and my calling card cut us off mid-sentence, he called the desk at the terminal. He waited around the airport 3 more hours to pick me up. He didn’t just pick me up though; he was waiting for me on the tarmac at the bottom of the plane stairs. It was very romantic. Then we went to P.F. Changs for dinner. I don’t know, what do you think?
